Remi's Bloglet

"There is a theory which states that if anyone every discovers exactly what the universe is for and why it is here, it will instantly disappear and be replaced by something even more bizarre and inexplicable. There is another which states that this has already happened" -Douglas Adams, Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Used as a flavor quote on the title page of a chapter on Apocalyptic writings in the text book New Testament Story. _

Warren Ellis' new project seems pretty interesting. Global Frequency deals with normal humans in extraordinary circumstances, and seems to be yet another step in Ellis' pushing away from superhero norms, while embracing some tropes, discarding others, and seeing what happens. _

Condensation of All Game Fiction
Purple prose rained down like a bad metaphor. Cool Dude strode into the setting, genre-specific weapon by his side.

The young kid approached. "Leading question", he said.

I am very bored, and I want to play tennis. If you're interested, just AIM your opening serve to me. Most times I'm up to this, although if I get something nonsensical, it would be nice if it were prefaced with 'want a match?' instead of just freaking my shit. The only rule is that we have to agree we're playing. _

I had seen this before, but it has slipped my mind. For all those folks out there who want to use miniatures, but don't want to shell out 2-6 bucks apiece, there are sets of Paper or Font minis at this site, and links to other places that have them. Ten bucks for a set of paper miniatures you can print out many, many times, in any size! Sometimes I love the computer age, even as it kills off pen-and-paper RPG's. _

Note to Green Party Organizers of Athens, GA:
After Ralph Nader has hyped up a room full of college students, do not have the loudest, most obnoxious member of your staff ask them for and individual donation of $10,000. When this is met with extremely loud talking, do not then, after five minutes of asking for 10k VERY LOUDLY, lower it to $5,000. Take what you can get from the excited masses and live with it. Ralph still rules, though. _

An interview with Carla 'Speed' McNeil who has slowly become one of my favorite comic book creators. I just keep going back to Finder again and again, and get more out of it each time. Please, please, please go read the issue available for free on her site, and then go an buy the two Sin Eater trades. You will not be disappointed by her wonderful art and layered, subtle, and engrossing stories. (Strangely enough, she lives near Annapolis, in Laurel, and knows Lance Lusk, so there's a Johnny connection) _
