A radio commercial just offered some sort of "fish oil" with cholesterol combating "omega-3" whatevers FREE to whomever called, courtesy of Iceland. My immediate thought? Iceland is bankrupt! What are they doing giving away free stuff?

Above a picture of Prince Charles of England, the local paper printed the headline, "Still Not King."
I laughed and laughed, mainly thinking of this.

Its funny to be reminded that raisins are just dried grapes. I took some oatmeal raisin cookies out of the oven, and one of the raisins had puffed up like a puffy thing, looking very grape like. Weird, but cool. Or is it cool, but weird?

When I first bought gas for my own car, I purchased it at a station on North Oak in Kansas City, and paid $1.89 a gallon. That would have been Semptember of 2006. Just now, I purchased gas at a station on North Oak in Kansas City, and paid $1.89 a gallon. How the worm turns.

Democrats were optimistic that the only two Democratic senators who will lose their Senate seats as a result of the national elections will be Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

My first political memory is from (I think) 1988. It was dark, and we were driving home from soemwhere. My mother asked my father who he had voted for, and he said, "Jackson."
I didn't know who Jesse Jackson was at the time, or why he was important, and I don't remember anything else about that evening, but I remember my father saying he had voted for Jesse Jackson in the primary. And now, 20 years later, I've voted for Barack Obama in the atual election.
I don't think that means anyhthing much, certainly nothing profound, btut there it is. I'm proud of myself today and proud of my country.
