I want my proper work to get here so I can stop banging my head against the wall doing things I don't know how to do, and I can just go sit there and stare at the computer screen while it makes PostScripts! Is that too much to ask?

I moved all my stuff out of my apartment in Philadelphia yesterday. My legs are still all tired from carrying heavy stuff down four flights of stairs.
After we got the stuff in the van, we we got bubble tea (or, I got bubble tea, and my mom got iced chai, without the tapioca), which I've been missing since I left Philadelphia. Then we went out for Thai food, at which point my mom's cell phone completely broke, and then put all my stuff in my grandparents garage and went home. It was such a long day.

USAir sucks. The past three times my mom has flown with them, there has been luggage problems. The first time and the last time, a bag was misplaced, and when they finally found it and brought it back, it was broken (this past time, it was my bag which I'd lent to her, and so I'm mad at them about that), and the time in the middle, they told her that yes, it was okay to check a laptop, and then the laptop was never seen again. Fortunately, they have replacement insurance, which meant that we have this new totally sweet top of the line Powerbook, because, back three years ago when she bought the computer, it was a totally sweet top of the line Powerbook. But, still. It sucks.

Today I bought a dress. Well, my mom got it for me. It's white and has bright pink roses on it, with green leaves. I was actually really surprised that I tried it on and liked it. Now I have to figure out earrings. I think someday this week, I'm going to go to the beadstore a couple of blocks away from work and buy pink and green crystals and make some earrings, cause nothing I have is nearly loud enough to go with the dress. I thought of the light grey earrings I made last week, which are georgeous, but they are subtle.

Nerdiness is so subjective. My brother and sister have been laughing at me about nerdiness, but it wasn't too extreme at St. John's, in company. Similarly, Connor says he is the hippy in his class at Babson, but is used to TCS, where he is not a hippy at all.

So, a crazy thing that I don't get. I was half watching TV, and talking to Katherine. (That made sense.) Crest did a commercial for this new promo thing they're doing where there are three new flavours of their toothpaste, and you vote on which one is best. I thought it was for gum, this is how much attention I was paying to the TV, right. But now, I really want to go out and buy the lemon one. Never mind that I have the vanilla mint stuff they do, and I love it. But. Lemon. I love lemon. But look at the power advertising!

I was just talking to Katherine on AIM, which is always exciting. I am reminded of this monologue a girl who graduated with my sister did; she is a white girl from South Africa, and part of the monologue was about being a 22 year old from white person from South Africa, how everyone get's all awkward when they realize you're from South Africa, but she was, after all, 7 when Nelson Mandela was released from prison.

My bank gave me a free pen with my deposit slips. Granted, if you go in, there's usually a big basket of pens and you can take as many as you want. And I hate writing with ballpoints, especially cheap ballpoints, but, they gave me a pen.

I slept in the Croquet shirt from this year, with all its nasty orangeness, and Jamie made me a pair of earrings with labrodoraite and red glass (they are very pretty, and we'll be putting them on the web very soon), and when she handed them to me said "please don't wear orange." I was like, well, no, I don't really wear orange, this was a free tee shirt that I sleep in.
