Yesterday, on the thought that there would definately be a soda machine at this place I'm working, I grabbed what I thought were four quarters. Turns out, one was a franc. I had another quarter in my pocket, but I was still like. Huh. A franc. That's currently useful currency nowhere. _

It seemed like such a bright idea, I was tired, so I got a frozen coffee drink with my salad when I stopped at Panera before going to Sue's. (If you eat at Panera, the Strawberry Poppyseed salad is really totally awesome and loaded with fruit, which is just exciting, however, the poppyseed dressing is sugar free and tastees nasty.) And then I ate all these candies while we were playing, cause I was getting tired, but then I would do stupid things while playing cards which would win us the game and get my adrenelin running. And I have to be at work at 8. And I'm like wired. _

And suddenly, I have to work at 8 every morning. This is just not a happy situtation. It tends to make me want to throw up. I did this for a month last summer, and it makes me sick. _

So, the other temp agency I talked to called while I was at work, presumably to tell me they have a job for me. I don't know what to do. Give me advice, people. _

The gmail ads are freaky. It's like, oh, Brianne and I were talking about Harry Potter. Suddenly, there's Harry Potter links on the side of my message. I mean, I'm totally on this Harry Potter kick, but it was scary. _

Aaron proposed an interesting ethical question over cards, which we weren't able to answer, and it led to an alignment debate, cause the question arose from D&D. The question was, is it okay to torture someone (possibly to death) if it will save a large number of people?

In the game, it had been that they were trying to save a bunch of villagers from these amazons. They captured one, and they wound up torturing her to get information about what they were going to do, so that they could save the villagers. The paladin in their party revolted at the thought of torturing the woman, and (I think) led the townspeople in an effort to rescue the woman. I said that sounded like a paladin, and if I'd been playing a paladin, I'd've done the same. We then argued as to whether or not the person doing the torturing could've been considered a lawful character, Aaron's argument being no, cause torture is against the law, my argument being yes, that lawful means that you are strict with yourself about morals, which is how you get lawful evil. So, people with more experience in how you figure out alignment, how would that work? _

Apparently, Voldemort is an INTP. The last time I took one of those tests, I came out as an INTP. _

I adore keyboard shortcuts. In everything. In my email it is lovely. I think you should always just have to hit tab enter to send an email. And I love this whole flipping through your various messages using only keys on the keboard. _

'm going privately Harry Potter mad, here in my head. I don't really have a clue what to do about it. I am rereading the second book, and I really don't like the second book. I was wandering around Barnes and Nobles today, looking for Robin McKinley's latest book, which apparently doesn't exist, even though I KNOW it came out last year, and it comes out in paperback in the fall. (I was killing time, and thought, gee, read a hardback book in a bookstore.) Anyway, I found this book that was like "clues for what might happen in Harry Potter which we've been working on just reading the books." It was written pre book 5. I found it, well, not ALL that ineresting, it was CLEARLY pre book 5, but it had this whole interesting idea (which is probably almost definately a load of crap) where James and Lupin switched bodies shortly before Voldemort went after the Potters. It was bizarre and strange, and, well, really interesting in that fanfic sort of way. AAAH! I need more books! Or the literary equivalent of nicorette! _

And now I go off for my first day at my new job. Eek. My boots are back from the shop. I missed my boots. I'd taken to wearing these other black boots when I needed to go somewhere, these boots I got from a free pile some time at St. John's. They are vaguely uncomfortable, and fake leather, and my Docs are so nice. And soft. And... And I missed my boots. _

There is a guy outside installing cable. We were never ever going to get cable, but it's like $1 more expensive than DSL to have basic cable and cable internet, and I think Connor sold my mom on the basic cable thing cause it's an Olympic year, and we don't really get tv stations. _

I woke up to one dog hopping in my bed and licking my face, then curling up and going to sleep. About half an hour later, a second dog came in (I don't even know how he got on my bed) and he started chewing on me, which woke up rather suddenly and painfully. I was bitter and made at him. Nattie awoke from her nest at my feet and came up to lick me some more and then Ben became interested in Nattie, cause Ben is in love with her. It was an interesting way to wake up. _
