Tori's Bloglet

The blog I check the most is Neil Gaiman's. (Unless you count the amount of times I'm on Moss's blog cause I follow the links there.) I generally don't read the blogs of those people I don't know. (Lately, I have begun reading Moira's and occasionally Liz's.) But his makes me happy in ways that Johnnies don't. Last year while I was reading Kant he was telling the world what he was reading to his 7 year old for bedtime stories, and it changed often, cause he would finish a book, and it always made me extremely happy because often times I would have it, and it would serve to be great distraction from Kant. But that is just one of the things. Neil Gaiman has long made me extremely happy. _

Went knocking on Katherine and Tracy's door. Was listening to Nine Objects of Desire and came across "Thin Man" and wanted confirmation that it was Akio. Stayed and talked for a while. Asked more questions about Utena. Am very happy that they answer my questions. _

If I want to say that in the Iliad Achilles' rage is the main character and he is the protagonist, would that be a terribly bad thing to say? _

Listening to a Joan Baez CD I received for Christmas, listening to her sing Peggy-O. She sang a verse I don't think Simon and Garfunkle did. "Sweet William is dead, pretty Peggy-O." Crazy. _

Tracy showed me music videos that were Fun With Editing and Utena this evening. Because she has told me the entire story, so it's okay for me to see clips of stuff that hasn't happened yet. _

Erin accused me of being territorial about my seat in Chorus, cause a new girl sat in it last night, and I was furious. (Cassie said that since she was knew, how could she know it was my seat? I pointed out that when you join a chorus halfway through the year, you don't take that particular seat.) I said, fine, but I didn't make her move. And I'm nowhere near as territorial about my seat as, say Hiram was. _

I have now rearranged my room. My desk is next to my bed, making a line to my closet. My ethernet cable didn't reach across my room, but Erin's did, and her desk is right above her connection, so we trade ethernet cables for the year. _

I had a lot of fun over Christmas making CD labels. I like going through my brother's digital pictures and taking one of them and putting it on a CD and then putting all the tracks on it. I only did two, cause I only made two CD's. I copied Brianne's Best of Suzanne Vega and a Cat Stevens collection. On the Suzanne Vega CD I put a picture my stepdad took of the bricks he laid this summer. The picture was taken at night, and runs into the garden, and it looks really quite cool. It was brighter on the computer screen. On the Cat Stevens CD I have this picture my brother took while we were at the family reunion in Boston this summer. (Well, outside Boston near Salem.) It's overlooking the bay (I think it's the bay) and the sun is setting, and there are all these boats. It looks like Boston to me. It's very cool, I think. _

Apparently they caulked my window. They have a list of rooms that have windows that need to be caulked, and those where the heaters need to be fixed, and mine is on both lists. This morning, they apparently just fixed my window. Apparently they said something like there was enough wind blowing through my windows to knock out three heaters. _
