I had this dream that St. John's was mcuh closer to my home (20 minutes-ish, by the crappy mall at home, rather than 2 hours) and it was right after Christmas, and I was feeling all lonely and wretched, and my mom had left me there with thecar, which was sort of accidental, but I was driving home. And on my way home, I was driving down this road, and the things went down for the train, but I was far enough away that that only sort of annoyed me, but then there was this guy, way before the train thing, who was trying to turn left on the road, and was pulled completely into my lane, and he sort of appeared there, rather than slowly pulling in, and my brakes didn't work when I tried to stop for him, and I hit him and it was totally horrible, and my car flipped. The particularly odd part about this is I remember things like "she said" for anything I said to him.

Nate, if you are going to take my seat so I have to take your seat, or in general, if I'm sitting on your right instead of your left, you have to move way less. Half the time in seminar tonight whenever anyone at the other end of the table was talking, I couldn't see them unless I moved my chair, and then you would move again. And half seeing Mr. Kolb or Mr. Smith's face and half seeing the back of your head was making my head hurt.

The waltz committee is selling their champagne at $2 a glass, and it's really bad champagne. Now, I do realize that champagne is probably generally more expensive than that if you were to, say, order it at restaurant, but...They wonder why people don't buy their champagne. I had this vauge feeling last night that Mandi would've happily given me champagne for free if I'd asked nicely enough and she'd been bored enough.

They set up TV's in two rooms in McDowell which were showing the lecture going on in the Great Hall, cause it was all filled up. Watching the lecture on the TV was a totaly bizarre experience.

I love it when I look up at the sky and it's all dark behind something, but something behind me is all bright so the trees or the building or both or whatever are all illuminated against the dark sky. It's so lovely, and that sort of thing only ever lsats for a tiny bit.

I like the Phaedra. It is good for me. It is almost Greek, at least the plot is Greek, and this makes me happy. A good little way of weaning me into enjoying translating French rather than Greek, which I am missing.
