Generally, when I knit, I start with the pattern, and then the yarn, and then, finally, things like the buttons. But I saw these buttons, and now I am creating ideas of projects to do with it. _

Last Friday, I got a call from my mail in pharmacy, telling me that I was out of refills for my Zyrtec, and that my doctor's office wouldn't let them just do a new one without me going in for an office visit. So, I called the doctor's office, and made an appointment for yesterday. And then when I got there yesterday they were like "oh, we called that in on Thursday, we gave you 90 days plus 1 refill, so that should last you six months." I had the most pointless office visit ever. I think she felt mildly bad about dragging me in and gave me prescriptions for two different cold sore things. _

Tracy has moved her stuff in the house. There is a huge stack of boxes in the corner of the living room, but it is a neat stack, and, as I said, it is in the corner, so that's okay. Leaving them in the living room until the furniture was set up was, in fact, my suggestion. It seemed like the sort of thing that would make everything easier. She we will be back later today to complete the move and whatnot, but for now she is visiting family. _

I made a lime curd tart for our potluck lunch. Had I known better what I was doing, I would've made the lime zest much finer. It is quite extremely tart, and so in excessive need of whipped cream. But other than that, it is quite tasty, and I think I will do it again. _

I am such a child. There is a quiche in my office, and I am sitting here eating a piece, and there are mushrooms which I am picking out. _

So, I ride two buses in the morning (but, oddly enough, only one in the evening). Every morning for about the past week, the bus I transfer onto pulls away as the bus I'm on opens its doors. It pisses me off. They are run by the same company. You would think they would coordinate their schedules better. Or at least the driver of the second bus would thing "look, that bus is pulling up behind me. Maybe there will be people transferring." I wrote the company to complain. I can wait for the next bus, but I get to work 10 minutes late if I do. _

What they always forget is not that she revealed that two characters will die in book seven, but that while writing it she announced that there were two deaths she hadn't planned on. This means there will be more than two deaths. I don't know why people keep over looking this. _

I find that gmail lends itself really easily to IM style emailing. Or maybe it's just a rapid back and forth sort of thing, but...I love gmail. Even if I'm never quite sure how they come up with their ads. _

I should watch nothing but House and sitcoms. There are never any real cliffhangers in those. _

So, KoolAid does not come out of wool, apparently. Which is rather nifty, as a dye. I had a lot of fun playing with dying this weekend, although the more I played with it the more terrified I was of the concept of KoolAid as a beverage. The grape was nearly black in the liquid form. People give this to their children! What color does it make their insides?! Brianne was craving KoolAid all weekend, because cooking KoolAid makes the whole house smell like KoolAid. _

I have been experimenting with dying yarn with Kool-Aid. It comes out in bright gorgeous colors. The cherry is lovely, and the ice blue raspberry lemonade nifty. The pink lemonade looks rather nice. The tangerine orange concoction (I wasn't even going to buy orange or yellow, but Brianne wanted me to) is like the color of a traffic cone. What strikes me as I play with this is that there are people who drink this stuff. It frightens me. _

I feel really silly, but I really liked in Civs 1-3 how you could get like a view of the city, so you could see all the cool stuff you'd built. I can't for the life of me figure out how to do that in Civ 4. _
