I really really don't understand when the computer decides to send me to one website when I told it to go to another. _

The new computer Connor got is up and running. It's all pretty and black with a flat screen (okay, so we were using the flat screen with the old computer all week) and apparently it has a kick ass processor. The side of the CPU is clear and you can see all the inside stuff, and it's lit up blue. And the keyboard and mouse are wireless. It's very nifty. And I can now check my new email, which is fun. _

So, Jamie and I went to see Harry Potter last night, largely because I needed to get out of the house. We spent a while debating the Harry/Hermione/Ron triangle, as she thinks it'll be Hermione/Ron and I say it'll be Hermione/Harry. Mine boils down to, well hero, cool girl, duh, and hers is Ron's crush in the later two books. And then we considered a James/Lily/Lupin triangle which would be very similar to that our kids are having, and Jamie assures me that it should really be James/Lily/Sirius, but I keep finding more and more similarites between Lupin and Ron, and James clearly got the girl.

Then, we stopped arguing, and realized that there's really more to Lily than we've been told, and Harry never asks anyone about his mom, just about his dad, and we were wondering about that. And so.

I really need a new hobby. Or a new book. _

I am in the process of trying to convince my sister to go see a movie with me, but I don't think she's going to go for it. _

I didn't get the job at Borders, cause I have no retail experience, and that just sucks. _

I want more Harry Potter. Right now. Something new and different. Something that's actually Harry Potter, not some fanfic. _

Fuck. I was excited to see the play with the Stillwaters. Ah well. Home I will stay this evening. So, if anyone wants to come visit me next weekend (not this coming weekend, but the one after that) there is free Midsummer's Night Dream to see. _

Ah, rain. Rain means I don't have to water the garden. I talso means I might not see Jamie's play tonight. _

I can, from time to time, be incredibly organized. The bookmarks on my computer have many subs to their categories, and everything is alphabetized. I arranged the DVD wallet the other day, and it all made sense to me, although there were some movies that I'd never seen or had any desire to see, and so they wound up in sort of random categories (like, I think maybe it's action, or maybe it's a comedy of sorts). There were three different sections of comedies, and Jamie thought I was being stupid. (Romantic comedies, slapstick-y/sci-fi-ish comedies, the other sort that are mostly funny, but don't really fit in either other category, such as Pleasantville and Igby Goes Down.) But, say, ask me to take on a big project like rearrange the bookshelves in the dining room so that there is a place for my pottery, and you get an overwhelmed Tori who is perfectly willing to come up with some completely other way of dealing with this, like putting them in a moveable cupboard thing that is temporarily in the hall. _

I got a gmail account, which makes me happy.Me: So, I don't think I understand this "conversation" thing.

C__: What?

Me: I mean, is it like usenet or something?

C__:Huh? I don't know what that is. It's just a way of displaying messages. _

Zeb has never read any of the Harry Potter books, and so Zeb is my new test subject for "how well does the third movie work, if you don't know everything that happened in the Shrieking Shack in the book?" And I just reread that bit, and the exposition felt endless and sometimes a little forced, so maybe Cuaron was right. _

A new computer will probably mean that I will redo the puzzles on jkrowling.com, which might annoy me, or else I'll make Jamie do it. Fuck the stupid eyes, though. _

Have I mentioned lately how much I love browsing with tabs? Tabs are wonderful. I love Netscape and their tabs. I loved gAim with it's tabs. I'm sitting here considering re-downloading gAim, just so I can have tabs for IMs as well as browsing, but Connor is going to about to put together a new computer, so I might as well not bother. _

We have this new flat monitor, and it looks like it's curving in, probably cause we're all used to looking at monitors which curve the other way. _

He also added olives. It's a cucumber mint salsa, which is interesting, but the only mint we have growing in the garden is chocolate mint, so who knows how it will be. (The chocolate mint is all my fault. I thought it smelled lovley, and convinced my mom to get it. So she did. It grew, nicely, in a pot, which mint almost never does, for years and years, without overrunning the entire garden, as mint is known to do. Then, suddenly, one year the roots ran out of the pot, and it is slowly taking over. However, it's nowhere near anything other than where I planted my watermelons and sunflowers, so it's okay.) But chocolate mint in salsa just strikes me as odd. _

Zeb is making salsa. It isn't really quite salsa, as the recipe didn't actualy call for tomatoes, so he just added them. It also didn't call for peppers, but we didn't have any, which is how we wound up picking them out. _
