My cousin got married this weekend, which was a bizarre experience. Brian is my age, and has always been my age (Nate and Rebekah are my age, but I've known them for four years, whereas I've known Brian my whole life). The day of the wedding was interesting, cause the wedding was late enough that there was a significant portion of time where no one knew what to do with themselves, so all the grown up women were cooking for the brunch the next day, and the uncles were given the task of helping buy beer. But we were still kids enough that they sort of looked at us, and handed us passes to the science museum, and told us to go watch the iMax show, and be sure to be back in time to get to the wedding. (Jamie helped one of the best men shop for random stuff, including the stuff do to up the car; it was Connor and I and the other best man's girlfriend who went out.) The wedding was lovely and sweet, and I liked the homily even. My aunt Candace made it clear to the entire room that she is not Catholic anymore when we were saying the Lord's Prayer as while saying "debts" in a room full of a hundred some people saying "tresspasses" won't be heard, continuing on with "for thine is the kingdom" very loudly in a room of Catholics who shut up to listen to the priest talk is heard. They were all lovely up there at the altar, and she got all totally choked up, so choked up she couldn't talk when it came to her saying her vows, and everyone in the church was like "awww..." _

I don't think Brian's blanket is going to be done by this weekend. I seem to have forgotten that this is slightly harder to knit for whatever reason. I can take it to school with me tomorrow, though, and walk around with the ball of yarn in my pocket, and knit that way. I really enjoy knitting with yarn that's in my pocket. _

Connor and I watched Chamber of Secrets the other day, and then stared at the computer showing us the preview for Prisoner of Azkaban a couple of times. And then, as I'd just finished my book, and his copy of Order of the Phoenix was lying around, I started reading it. And I just got to the miserable bit where Harry's particuraly idiotic, and I don't know if I'm going to continue. _

Connor is nearly done with the Common App and is (I think) finished with Babson's special supplement essay, so I made him meringues. They are in the oven. They will be done in like two and a half hours. _

I can't remember the name of the yarn I used to make Nate and Rebekah's wedding present. I want to say that it was called Touga, but I'm sure that's not right. _

Bizarre moments: You are in Netscape, as IE crashes for no apparent reason if any other program is running, and you are running AIM and iTunes (but the AIM that comes with Netscape, cause the other AIM crashes for no reason as well). And you decide to see what sort of clothes Banana Republic is selling, so that you can maybe find something nice to wear to your cousin's wedding rehersal and rehersal dinner (the dress for the wedding itself is picked out, and just needs to be located again), and suddenly you get an IE popup. _

When my brother was like five, my mom was driving him through York, and it went from Residential to Industrial back to back, and he started ranting about how you don't do that, cause it causes pollution, and makes property values go down, and why not put commercial zones in between. My mom was totally shocked, and so he explained SimCity.(They are talking about it right now.) _

We got at least a foot of snow, and the roads are absolute crap. Connor said he drove 15 MPH when he went to the store, and still didn't feel like he had control of the car. The car which is in 4 wheel drive, at the time, too, I'm sure. I had wondered why it took him longer to get to the convenient store and back than it took for the water to boil. _

My dogs enjoy the snow, and get all perky when they come inside, but their short little legs are all covered in snow. It's rather sad. _

Connor and I made (or rather, Connor went to the store, and I made) spaghetti and marinara sauce and meatless meatballs for lunch. This is a far healthier lunch than yesterdays waffles with chocolate chips, skor chips, and whipped cream (which he made, and I went to the store to buy the whipped cream). _
