Alcestis is an odd play. I find myself sitting there wondering why the hell Admetus asked her to die for him if he was going to flip out when she actually says yes and dies. But it's lovely, and I always did like this story. _

Oh, yes, all Johnnies ought to know (don't know why i thought of this at not quite 8AM) Annabeth is getting married, and she's getting married in the Great Hall. _

For whatever reason, my little sister was looking at stuff about Rhodes Scholars, and found out that one of my best friends from early early elementary school (she didn't go to kindergarten with me, and I left at the end of third grade) is a Rhodes Scholar. Go Shayna. _

I dreamt about the Fourth Postulate last night. I don't really remember anything about it, except that someone said something along the lines of "but we don't have the fourth postulate here" and we talked about it for a really long time. _

We watched this short little video this morning about waves, which the sound was either turned off on or was non-existant. And our lab assistant decided that it would be appropriate to play The Ride of the Valkyries. It was really cute. And Mr. Maistrellis thought it was a great idea, which made it even cuter. _

Mr. David said he'd advise me on my paper since I want to write on Aeschylus or Homer. Just so long as I don't change my mind and decide to write on Spinoza or something, it's fine. _

Oh, they didn't do the shooting each other thing in the dining hall. By the time all three guys who were going to shoot each other were present, the dining hall had started to clear, which sort of defeated the purpose of the whole thing. Perhaps tomorrow. _

I haven't written either of my past two lab reports, the later of which was due a week ago. And I haven't written my paper on Baudelaire yet, either, but that shouldn't take terribly long. I hope. _

I couldn't lay out the keys on a keyboard for you, say, writing them down on a blackboard. But my fingers know where they are, and that is all that's important. It's like playing music by ear. But not. _

Tomorrow at lunch there will be a very dramatic shooting as an ad for Assassins. I hope that it is both successful in getting people to sign up and not in offending anyone. _

I looked for Mr. David after seminar in the coffeeshop, cause he seems like a good sort of person to have as an advisor when you want to write about something Greek, not philosophy, and you think you wrote on Aeschylus too recently to have anything to more to say about it. But I couldn't find him. And Cassie doesn't think he'd be a good advisor. _

I think it would be very cool if someone could come up with an experiment like what the Ancient Greeks when they figured out that the Earth was curving and figured out the circumference only instead of just doing it to our planet were able to do it to the universe. _

We were trying to figure out this weird Lobochevski thing this afternoon. A group of people were going about trying to figure out, thought they'd explained it, and then I pointed out that the way they'd explained it didn't work, cause then we'd be in Euclidean space. Bill laughed. Other than that, no one in the room seemed to acknowledge that I'd spoken. _

I got a syllubus-thing from Mr. Schulman this afternoon, telling us what we're reading when, with something like the last three precepts open with question marks. The thing is, I think there are around 20 plays, and there are 14 precepts... _

I taught Rey and Prose how to knit this afternoon. Rey decided that it would be easier to learn how to knit backwards than it would be to learn how to perl. I tried to explain how that wasn't true, but she tried anyway, and actually succeeded, which impressed me. _
