For those who read this and are planning to/have given Hiram money for his Croquet bash, breakfast is at 10. I think it's on front campus, but I'm not sure. _

Most of my seminar stood on the boathouse porch and watched Nathan Land dive into College Creek this evening in this sort of horrified amazement. We then discussed stealing his towel, but we didn't. _

My brother's girlfriend is going to talk to her boss about me waiting tables at their restaurant when a position opens in June. It'll be way majorly part time, I'm talking Friday and Saturday nights here, but it's a good restaurant, and apparently if you work there you get 50% off food and 20% off at the health food store they are part of. _

I made phone calls for the advancement office's fund raising thing. Good fucking god. I got so many answering machines. I felt like a stewardess. Over and over again. But they fed us, and the salad they had was lovely, and so were the cookies. And I got a tee-shirt. But I swear, I all I got was answering machines and graduate students. _

We were standing outside Ben and Jerry's, eating our free ice cream, and these high schoolers came up to us and asked if we would mind answering questions for a survey for their religion class. They had a whole stack of papers, so I asked if she just wanted us to each fill one out, and she said, no, she wanted to ask us and we could sort of answer as a group. We said, um...sure, sounds okay. They video-taped us. It was highly amusing. All the questions were about marriage vs. single life. The poor girl was probably not expecting Johnnies, or debates, but simply yes or no answers. She certainly was not expecting her grammer to be corrected. Nate dropped Paul's name several times, and she didn't notice. He mentioned Aristotle once, and apparently the camera man's face was hilarious at that point. I felt rather sorry for them. And it ought to be noted that she didn't ask the other Johnnies standing right next to us if they wanted to take a survey. _

Today in lab we wound up doing this strange experiments which we sort of made up. Or, rather, four guys stood around and did these expirments while the rest of us watched them, and were bored and annoyed. I'm not entirely sure what they were trying to find out, at least originally, but in the end they were pretty much trying to figure out whether the horseshoe magnet or the electro-magnet was stronger. I think we learned more about preschool boys than we did about either electricty or magnetism. And certainly more about stupid guys than about Maxwell. _
