I got Season of Mists and World's End. Now Brief Lives and The Wake have to show up, and I will have all of the cool long story ones. _

I spent the weekend rereading Still Life With Woodpecker, which I still haven't quite finished up. The writing style was so fluid and casual that just the difference in Hume's prose is shocking now that I go back to it. _

I have a Sim named Alice Liddell. Now, when I name my Sims, as I a really bad at the whole naming them thing, I tend to look around the room and grab a name generally from a book, and then name them. (Last year I had the Tyndale family, cause of looking up and seeing the Tyndale New Testament.) Anyway, this girl did not acquire her name by me looking up and seeing my Complete Illustrated Works of Lewis Carroll and thinking "gee, Alice..." But by me looking up and seeing my Lexicon and going "Liddell...What a good last name for a Sim." And only then, when flipping through heads and finding a blonde, did I remember about Alice of Alice In Wonderland and name her Alice. _

It was determined by people in my precept last semester (although this determination was done in our math class the next day, as three of us were in math together) that the May Pole is a complete combination of tragedy and comedy. Comedy was, in Greece and Egypt, celebrated by running around town with phallic symbols. Dancing and singing, and so forth, (kome aidia, comedy, town song). Tragedy was done in a circle around a sacrificed goat. (Tragos aidia, goat song.) So you have people dancing in a circle around a phallic symbol. _

Well, I figured out what was wrong with my printer and I made a sign to put on the door to the Campbell Common Room about Dr. Who. I'll put it up at a later date, or I'll give it to Tracy to put up. _

She is back, Michelle, my old roommate. This time her hair is black. Um. Yes. But probably, none of you knew her. _

And there were people playing Poker in the Campbell Common Room, so I don't get to watch Dr. Who tonight after all. And I didn't see a Tracy. _

It's sad when I think back and try to remember when the last time I had something that most people would call a "meal" and I think it might be the pizza I had before Storytellers, but that's hardly a meal, and I can't really think of anything, well, since I got back. _

"Albert Camus wrote that the only serious question is whether to kill yourself or not.
"Tom Robbins wrote that the only serious question is whether time has a beginning and an end.
"Camus clearly got up on the wrong side of bed, and Robbins must have forgotten to set the alarm.

The problem with the Dining Hall having nothing edible but potato chips is while they are quite filling when you eat them, they leave you really hungry afterwards. Stupid dining hall. _

There are definate perks to having lab with a usically inclined lab assistant and a musically inclined tutor. You play with vibrating strings, and start talking about harmonics. And eventually rather than watching the little numbers to tell when you're coming to the next node, your lab assistant is doing the thing by ear, cause there is a slight delay. _

Not, Margaret, if Margaret were back I would be happy. But my pre-Margaret roommate, who dropped out the same night we started reading the Odyssey, and who left a bunch of cut blue hair on the floor. And a bunch of hangers, which I took. She came back last year, and dropped out at Christmas. And I swear I just saw he as I was coming back to Pinkney after lab. Except her hair is no longer blue, it is now black. _
