One of the odd things about knowing how to knit, is that you can never look at a sweater or other knit thing in a store the same way. (Sweaters do this to me most particularly, as that is what I tend to knit the most often.) Rather than thinking, could I afford this, you think, okay, so there's five stitches in an inch, and that yarn doesn't look like it's terribly expensive...so you find yourself couting stiches in a sweater, hoping that you guessed at the gauge right, and that the yarn that you want to knit something similar with and already have has the same gauge. _

Even my perfect sister puts things off to the last minute. Like lab reports. But I bet if she ever had a paper to write about calculus, she'd hand it in on time. _

According to Mr. David, the people who decide such linguistic matters as this, have decided that there is only one word which is allright to insert into a word, breaking it up, for emphasis. (This is called tmesis. Herodotus was doing a bunch of it in what we were translating the other day.) I do know what this word is, can anyone else figure it out? _

I have this math paper that I haven't written that was due before Thanksgiving. I hate this paper. I need to talk to my math tutor, but he's a scary man. And I hate calculus. I've actually been crying about this, and I don't cry easily. _

My family uses mentadent toothpaste, and I use Tom's of Maine. So everytime I go home, I use their toothpaste (cause if I do have Tom's at home, it's gotten nasty) and it tastes all sugary and nasty and scary. _

It's depressingly not late November-y here. It's supposed to reach 68 tomorrow, and just about every temperture this week is warmer than what my stepdad set the thermostat to last winter. It's cloudy and rainy, but it doesn't seem to be dropping the temperture. I like winter, I like snow, and I want it to hurry up. Besides which, this warm weather running into the end of November isn't killing off bugs. I pulled three ticks off of one of our dogs this weekend, and its far to late in the year to be appropriate to finding ticks on dogs. _
