As my cough as become just a nasty cough with stuff coming out of my lungs, and I can breathe again, the prospect of going off to see if the nurse can do anything for me becomes less appealling than it did last night, when I felt as though I was dying. _

So, thi weekend, our new puppy was running around outside having a grand old good puppy time in my grandparents' yard, while these people were cutting down a tree, and it came crashing down right in fron of her tiny little face (well, like six feet away, but it came CRASHING down) and she bolted. She ran in a straight line for more than a mile, all the while we were running/driving around calling her and calling her, and trying to figure out which way she went, and asking neighbours everywhere. My mom was in tears and was about to give up looking for her, when she found the puppy, who had found a nice person who was outside checking his mail. It was a great relief for everyone, after our big huge gigantic scare. _

All the normal New Year's babies (i.e. not my sister and I) are having their birthdays now. And having just been invited to Hiram's birthday party, I cannot go, because it is my grandmother's birthday, and she is turning 75, and we are all (and I mean all of the family) going off to Deleware for the weekend. Which also means that I'm not going to be here for Homecoming Weekend, which in the past I've thought was fun, and last year I made about $75 working for the alumni office. _

From my uncle: Former heavyweight boxing champ Muhammad Ali visited the ruins of the World Trade Center on Thursday. When reporters asked how he felt about the suspects sharing his Islamic faith, Ali responded pleasantly, "How do you feel about Hitler sharing yours?" _

I think I like Hobbes, which is nice, cause I didn't like Descartes, and I didn't particularly like Pascal, and I didn't like reading Don Quixote (although, when I got to seminar, i quite liked it), and I wasn't entirely sure about Milton. But I think I do like Hobbes. And I want to know about our preceptorials now. I'm tired of waiting. _

For my sister's sake: In Genesis, just before the flood happens (um...verses 2 and 4 of Chapter 6) there is mention of the sons of God. But in some translations of the Bible, it is sons of Gods. And she wants to know what's up with that. Some part of a vague explanation from a very confused Mr. Childe I just got involved all sorts of weird things which eventually boiled down to something along the lines of God being the One and the Many at the same time. Any ideas, anyone out there? _

Of course, I very rarely eat breakfast, myself. But there still aren't a terribly large number of impossible things for me to believe in before those rare occasions when I do eat breakfast. _

This has been bugging me for a few weeks now. Snow White is a twit. There really is no way around having Snow White be stupid (unless you do something like Mr. Gaiman's Snow, Glass, Apples, but that was weird and totally different, and t doesn't quite count). You can make Sleeping Beauty into pretty much whatever you want, and you can explain her pricking her finger in all sorts of various ways which make her not stupid, but Snow White really doesn't have an excuse. _
