--Too Early to Plan--

Yay, the Medical Director called my study elegant, and is talking about trying to get it published. Though that would mean more work, and since no one is actually paying us to do this, I end up working on it out of office hours. Now I just have to see if my one positive finding vanishes (people who waited for the deadline showing increased Albuterol usage after the switch) if I control properly for run-out before we meet with the staffer for the congresswoman. _

Not at all sure about how I feel about having my feet clipped to the pedals.  It seems like it might be more comfortable, if I can get the cleats in the right spot.  but not being able to adjust your foot, hm.  Also, definitely need more practice quickly picking the right side of the pedal, clipping in, getting out.  Like a manual transmission, it's just one more thing to think about.  But once I adjusted to having the shoe be the pedal, it really is a nice feeling, being able to pull.   _

Why cyclists don't want bike lanes.  Make sure you watch past the 1:30 mark. I flatly refuse to use the bike lane by alewife, and the proposed one on Mass Ave would be unusable. _

double-posted, because they're just that exciting. I was never really satisfied with velcro as a shoe fastening solution. I feel like I should paint them, or cover them with stickers, because I couldn't possibly make them more tacky than they already are. _

Ohmygod, I want ratchets on all my shoes.  These are awesome.   I don't know if being clipped into the pedals is awesome, or even tolerable, because the pedals haven't arrived.   But having a little lever that tightens your shoes for you, and a button to take them off is deeply awesome. _

This is terrorism unadorned, in it's simplest form.  The people who did this are the enemies of peace, of civilization, attempting to make sure a broken society stays that way.  I caught a news report from Jeruselem the other night, on CBS, and the raw entitlement, particularly from the mayor, was nauseating.  The belief in universal rights is so ingrained in me, I have difficulty believing it when I see it repudiated without remorse, by people who speak my language, positive not only in their righteousness but its obviousness.  The belief in a chosen people, taken straight, without mitigating theology, is utterly toxic, vile. All governments, in many ways, fail in their obligations to the people they govern. But to deny that those obligations exist...

I have finished a study showing that, actually, HFA asthma inhalers work just fine for Medicaid patients.  The initial study was done quickly, and showed all sorts of provokative things.  It turns out?  If you control carefully, almost all of it evaporates.  It does look like there's a group of late adopters (ie, people who were forced to switch) whose utilization went up after the switch, so maybe they aren't using them correctly.  And yes, they cost more.  But there's no grist here for those looking to legalise CFCs again. _
