Sol Sender, aka the guy who designed it, just favorited my stained glass Obama logo. Apparently he's collecting folk-art renditions of it. The internet is bizarre. _

Abolish MPG! Sullivan links to one of my pet peeves. It's a terrible metric. People drive miles, they don't drive gallons. _

I'm sort of tempted to go to the scrabble club, but I hate knowing words without knowing what they mean, and I don't like vocabulary geekery in general.  However, based on a completely unrepresentative sample (named Mike), serious scrabble players are nicer people than chess or go players, and Erika is never going to take to bridge: bidding is too much like filling out tax forms.

You can buy special pieces (called protiles) which are smooth plastic, because apparently there were problems in the world of competitive scrabble with people picking the letters they needed by feel. _

Shepard Fairey stencil poster? on local zombie disco. I'm curious how long it will last. Part of a promotional spree around Cambridge coinciding with his show at the ICA. He even managed to get promotionally arrested. _

House has been inspected.  Took 5 hours.  My feet are very cold.  Saintly landlord has been brought up to speed.  Tomorrow, mortgage broker and lawyer-shopping.   _

Bredesen for HHS would be interesting.   I really like the idea, but the story of the TennCare debaucle can certainly be told in a way that makes him look dreadful. _

So it feels like coasting in neutral is more fuel efficient than coasting in 5th. In 5th, the engine slows you down. But! In 5th, the car keeps the engine running, so you're not burning any gas. In neutral, the engine idles to keep from stalling. So you can coast further in neutral, but you're burning more gas. _
