Lincoln conservation land. Lincoln gives me the creeps, everything about it oozes money, but their exclusionary zoning has left them with a lot of nice parkland. _

Health care cost control through the magic of technology, in the inaugural address!  I'm seriously feeling the job security here.  Also, woo for non-believers!  Joe Lieberman he ain't. _

There's really enough snow out there.  I can't think of any task, that, undertaken now, would lead someone to say, there isn't enough snow.  We're in snow-cave territory. _

This may be my name, my keyboard layout, and my major metropolitan area, but this is not me. I attempted to work out what I he was on about the philosophy of time with no-futurism, aka the growing salami model, but couldn't make heads or tails of it. _

Sometimes, I have no idea how anything gets done anywhere. The sheer number of mistakes made in the average cubicle based organization every day is staggering. _

Watched a couple episodes of the Andy Griffith Show.  Don Knotts was really very good.  I refuse to believe that most people look as much like themselves when they grow up as Ron Howard. _

Wassname the openly gay bishop, on the radio.  I think I actually find his sort of universalism more upsetting in the public sphere than more partisan christianity, because he's including everyone except me.  Still not very upsetting. The more priests disagree with each other, the better, is my general feeling. The last thing I want is interfaith unity. The great thing about this country is that having 500 religions makes secular society necessary. _

Israel bans Arab political parties from the next election. Until the supreme court rules or the election actually goes forward like this, it should probably be written off as a toxic and moronic right-wing stunt, but it says a lot about the state of Israeli politics that it passed. I am really looking forward to hearing what our new president will have to say on all this next week. While we're here, 3 cheers for Bush not letting Israel bomb Iran last year! _

Wednesday - Saturday look like they're going to be properly cold.

I seem to have become a better cross-country skiier for no reason that I can discern.   I found one particularly satisfying hill and charged up and down it a few times.  It may be that it was good snow, not icy at all.  _
