I suppose leaving ungrammatical "comments" on blogs dedicated to small-minded pedantry would be "trolling". _

I'm not sure how I made it this far in life without a kitchen funnel. _

Several years later, at least 3, I go shopping for a tablecloth again, for the same table, except this time, with no plans to cut a hole in the middle to fit cables through. And, the thing is, I end up with exactly the same tablecloth, without knowing it. Under a different brand, different store, but exactly the same fabric, same size. _

Apparently I have eccentric tastes in charities. Accion International and PATH aren't on my company's approved list. Charity Navigator doesn't even list Transparency International. (Presumably because they're German, so not a tax loophole) My company has a 100% match, plus a free day off if I give 1% of my salary, which rather changes the normal cost-benefit analysis of repaying loans vs. charitable donations which usually keeps me from donating to non time-critical causes. (i.e. if I'm going to spend a set amount both donating and paying off a loan, I'm better off paying off the loan first, because, as a general rule, loan interest > inflation) _

And today we learn the first lesson of liquid smoke: use sparingly. This tuna/mozzarella/smoke quesadilla is interesting, but by no stretch of the imagination would I call it good.

Edit: it grew on me a bit. Peculiar stuff, liquid smoke. Also, Mozzarella gives my spelling intuition fits. _

My commenting alter-ego lives up to his name and helps copy-edit Swampland with a nitpick about the word inevitable. Am I right that inevitable implies DOOM fairly strongly? Any examples of good things being inevitable? _

I had thought the low water levels had exposed weeds, but no, in fact, they're flowering. I'm tentatively declaring this stuff Milfoil. _

oak cygnets 9/28
2 of the 3 surviving cygnets that hatched out near the big oak. Presumably once they mature the white cygnet will look just like the rest. Their beaks have started changing color. The two swan families had switched areas of the pond this morning. (I can only tell because of the white cygnet) I've never seen the two groups interact. _

I don't mean to only take photographs of invasive or parasitic species. It just sort of works out that way. _
