Wooh, dizzy. Things I haven't blogged: Wallace and Gromit (failure to meet absurd expectations, theories why, examination of why I only watch childrens movies) All those pictures I haven't edited. We Love Katamari! _

So, ~34,000 calories in a gallon of gas. Let's say walking 10 miles a day while eating 3,000 calories is weight neutral. That's 11 days worth of food in a gallon of gas, enough to walk 110 miles. 110 miles per gallon. _

Yay! My favorite helpdesk staffer came back! It always makes me happy when good people give up on the outside world and come back to <--company name-->. Makes me feel vindicated in my complete inability to even look at my resume, let alone send it out. _

I wrote an email to my congressman! Never done that before. However, the Amendment offered by McCain addresses the issue that has bothered me most about my government of late. Most issues are complicated, and I feel I don't have enough facts to opine strongly. I fell in with Amnesty Int'l folks in Santa Fe and found them troubling. They never bothered to explain their positions to their army of letter writers. There was no discussion. This is different. The executive branch is making a terrible mistake, and a poisonous acceptence of the torture has crept into the culture. Most issues that come up in our political culture that anger me are trivial. They are instigation: Pledge of Alliegence, flag-burning, 10 commandments, and so on. This is different, and it seems worth adding my voice to the noise, so they will realize this is different. I nearly wrote my Senators as well, but my Senators are both smelly and I don't want to encourage them. Somehow Massachusetts has accumulated two senators who make me feel itchy whenever they speak. There may be worse windbags in the Senate, but I can't think of any. Their is nothing worse than listening to a windbag saying something you agree with. _

Fly or drive? 2 round trip tickets, non stop, ~$900. 2 round trip tickets via O'Hare, ~$560, 7 to 9 hours. Drive, 13 hours +, 761 miles, maybe $150 dollars in gas. I like driving better than flying. Random bit of trivia: Airliners get about 55 seat-miles per gallon. Maybe we can break the trip and visit my sister. _
