Tim's Bloglet

At some point it occured to me to stand on the fence from my seal-viewing spot, and I discovered these.

All the previous were taken from Cap Bon-Ami in Parc national du Canada Forillon. _

Black Guillemot. There were large flocks of these on the water, and a few mixed in with the Cormorants on the cliffs. _

The on on the right got their first. The one in the middle arrived, and was chased off with much flapping. I'm sure being hit by a seal flipper hurts, but it still looks silly. Then the one on the left arrived. Finally the middle one slunk back and was allowed to sit. The entire process involved a lot of grunting. _

Taken from the top of the cliff. The water was clear enough that you could see the seals swimming underwater. _

Our campsite. The tent pulled up stakes and tried to run off down the hill with us in it around 11pm Wednesday night during a gale. We took it down, slept in the car, and went and found a very inexpensive hotel. This was a Canadian national park, so was impeccably clean, with beautiful showers, water spigots everywhere, and so on. _

Back now. Drove 728 miles yesterday, in 15 hours, including breaks. My head has stopped spinning, but it took a while. Two fish are missing, the two small corydoras cats (Goldie and Mr Black). I suspect they weren't getting their share of food since the siamese algae eater (Sheep) ran out of algae to eat. Current theory is that they died and were eaten by the plecos. The remaining Cory, Bertha, seems nervous, but that is probably projection. I made sure she got some food. The cat was absurdly happy to see us. Plan for today is to unpack, drink vast quantities of tea, and edit pictures. _

I'm starting to think that my belief in the law is quaint and peculiar. Tell me, do you think judges and lawyers simply play some sort of obscure game, and the winner gets to do whatever they like? That if the right answer comes out at the end, then that's good, and otherwise, it's broken? _
