Brand new Sophocles! Hot off the presses! Also Hesiod, Archilochos, Euripides. From the City of the Sharp Nosed Fish.

Speaker A: . . . gobbling the whole, sharpening the flashing iron.

Speaker B: And the helmets are shaking their purple-dyed crests, and for the wearers of breast-plates the weavers are striking up the wise shuttle's songs, that wakes up those who are asleep.

Speaker A: And he is gluing together the chariot's rail. _

I am doing a good job with a client management task at the moment. Something strategic in the back of my head is screaming. Why can't I be bad at things I hate? _

NSTAR customer service, after making me sit through a few minutes of menus that don't accept input until the end, hung up on me in order to protect me from long hold times. I can hope I'm not the only one with an irritatingly obtuse bill. _

Cycled 22 miles in 2 hours, stopping for a hot dog and dishwasher detergent. Was able to keep pace on the way back with someone wearing a bright orange windbreaker with scary looking calf muscles all the way back. I'm leaving that modifier where it is. I like my aerodynamic lawnchair on wheels. Going to try to make 3 8 mile excursions to Trader Joes for frozen yuppie treats a week after work. But, I forgot the point. The point is, I was only out there for 2 hours, and the back of my hands are an angry red. I think my resentment against my pigmentation has something to do with my growing my hair out; I have to get something out of this deal. _

Bike rides for ordinary people, or, as the URL would have it, Bike Rides FOP! The pictures are very reassuring; none of them seem to be wearing logo-emblazened spandex. Unfortunately, without a bike rack, I'd have to cycle to the starting points and back again, which is only occasionally feasible. The bike did come home from the shop in the back of the golf, but reluctantly. I've never been able to coax it back in. _
