A suit no longer makes the person inside look gentlemenly, but rather as though they wish to sell me something. I don't know anyone under 50 who looks comfortable in one.

I may investigate suspenders. _

A squirrel swam past, within a foot of my kayak, and I didn't get the picture. At first I thought it was a leaf moving against the wind; all that was above water was the eyes, nose, ears and, some distance behind, the middle section of the tail. It was crossing from the island back to shore, shortly after a heron I was tormenting landed near it. I was simply too gobsmacked to think of the camera. It looked very small when it emerged on shore. I'll never get into the humourous greeting card business if I miss opportunities like that. _

My lower levels of consciousness just played a strange trick. I was sick of the headphones, so unplugged them. the CPU has a built-in speaker. As I emerged from a period of concentration, I registered something under the desk. Generally, something under a desk = a cat, so my mind decided it had a cat singing "Get me away I'm dying" on it's hands, and elevated the issue. _
