Tim's Bloglet

Poems do not exist to increase the understanding of poets. If the poet wanted to be understood, they'd write clearly. Poets happen to create poems, usually for their own reasons. Poems are pleasant in and of themselves, and fun to root around inside, looking for shiny things. Whether they were put there to be found through meticulous craft or were simply created by the workings of the mechanism of language, like ripples in water or layers in a biscuit, doesn't really matter either way. _

Yay! I'm now extraordinarily happy. Probably too happy. Wasteful. If only it could be stored, a great big shimmering reservoir of happiness. _

When trying to air out a space with help from a fan in the window, should it face in or out? Does it matter? Speaking here of trying to exchange air most efficiently, not trying to cool a warm object such as myself. I suspect it doesn't make much difference, and is complicated by things like wind direction, number and location of other windows, and so on. I suppose if I actually wanted to know I should simply test, rather than idly pondering theoretical arguments on either side. _

The air conditioning isn't working in the office. The person who came around to look had an infrared thermometer. I had no idea such things existed. You simply point them at something (in this case, the air vents in the ceiling), push the button, and it tells you the temperature. Has a laser pointer in it to help you aim. _

The doorbell rang, and the cat bolted for the back door. Only the front door has a bell. When the front door opened, he made a dash for it, but too late. Evidence of abstract thought? It seems like a muddle he could only get into if he thought of the two escape routes as the same type of thing. _
