Bloglet, the gentleman's mock turtle soup --
Moss made it sweeter than myrrh ash and dhoup

One seismically-unstable Moroccan stronghold coming up.

Two, count 'em, two lab reports done and done well, with time to spare. Funny... that does feel pretty nice. Whaddayaknow. _

I'm sorry. I've been valiantly resisting the temptation for many minutes now, but I've finally given in. The phrase:

"this is my rifle, this is my gun...add the kirschwasser and stir until done..."

Makes me so happy I don't know whether to spit or mash rutabagas. From Anne's blog's comments. _

God, I'm glad I never lived in Whitefish. Sometimes I don't remember well enough what the rest of Montana is like compared to Missoula. At Hellgate, we had mohawks and dreadlocks all over the place. No one raised an eyebrow. And this poor kid is as good as expelled for hers?! God almighty. Thank you, Missoula. Please stay the way you are. Don't let them hayseed bastids encroach an inch on you, freaky commie crazy granola town. _

Foul mood. My head is clear, my body is healthy, and I am in a foul mood. I'd be in a good mood except for that damn test. It's raining and beautiful outside, it's almost the weekend, and I have nothing to complain about. Except myself. I could have said, "Except my life... except my life... except my life." And then I would have been quoting Shakespeare and being all erudite and allusory, except it sounds even whinier than my version, plus it ain't true. So there's what quoting Shakespeare gets you. Take heed, cats and kittens. _

Arrrrgh! I knew nearly every damn thing on that test, but I was too slow to finish the calculations, and I think I got a wretched grade. How the hell am I supposed to get quicker at punching numbers into my calculator and juggling them around on paper? Do it by rote, I guess, 'til I don't even have to think about it -- just see the symbols and bum's rush 'em through the equations. Grrrr. I know all the frigging concepts. I can even do the algebra, if you let me tweak it for a little while. But I don't have it all smooth-as-you-please. Didn't see the point before. Was always able to finish in good time. Either my mind is getting slower, or... ugh. Another thing I've got to alter in myself, I guess. _

It's a cold rainy day. I need soup.
It's a cold rainy day. I need music.

Soup Music:

1. Shockheaded Peter -- Augustus and the Soup ("He ate and drank as he was told, And never let his soup get cold.")
2. Really Rosie -- The Ballad of Chicken Soup ("Today our dear friend Chicken Soup, this very ordinary day, boiled up a pot of chicken soup and swallowed it away.")
3. Palestrina -- Super Flumina Babylonis ("Well, Fluminababylonis has never really agreed with me... so I guess I'll take the soup.")
4. Estradasphere -- Super Mario Brothers 2 Remix (Same joke, different song.)
5. Allan Sherman -- Hungarian Goulash No. 5 ("Mutton chops are definitely British. Chicken soup undoubtably is Yiddish.")
6. Rosenberg 7 -- Lilgubben ("My goats shit beans The neighbors' girls pick
them up Make themselves a bean soup And say that it tastes good!")
7. The Vestibules -- Bulbous Bouffant ("Gazpacho! Borscht! Vichyssoise!")
8. Homer and Jethro -- Hernando's Hideway ("They serve old soldier's soup to you most every single day; you eat a bowl and durn my soul, you fade away." "There's music by Hernando's group. They sing like they are sippin' soup. Sounds like a coon dog with the croup, Olé!")
9. Ernie Kovacs -- Hotcakes and Sausage ("I asked her for hotcakes sausage, she gave me rigatone!")
10. Groupa -- Imeland
11. Quincy Troupe -- Poem
12. Babs' Three Bips and a Bop -- Oop-Pop-a-Da
13. Leonard Cohen -- Un Canadien Errant ("French Canadian Bean Soup!!")
14. Randy Newman -- I Think it's Going To Rain Today (it's not all about soup, you know.)
15. Virgil Thomsom -- To Be Asked How Much Of It Is Finished (every bowlful. yum.) _
