I won a free snowball! I was coming home with my groceries, and I stopped by the snowball stand just outside campus, and they had a sign that said: "If you can finish this one, it's free!" For a snowball made with Spearmint, Pink Champagne, Root Beer, Coffee, and Whiskey Sour. I told 'em I didn't like spearmint, but if they wanted to substitute some other nasty thing for it, I'd give it a try. They agreed, and made it with sour apple. It was delicious -- tasted just like a Waltz Party. (`; And Freeeee! _

AAAAAAH! Oh my sweet lord in a sandbag, the Library has a video of La Clemenza di Tito with TATIANA TROYANOS AS SESTO!!!! {falls over in ecstasy} and it's closing in one minute, so I only got to see the first recitative and aria (skipping the overture, {snif}), but ay ay ay! It's so freaking good! It's all filmed artsy style with close ups and outdoor sets and she's sooooo hot! Man oh man oh man. I didn't even know there was a video. God! She's perfect! The Annio's pretty studly too, though I'd never heard of her. She's got this snide kinda ringing voice, which is good to have when you're playing a clueless pushover like Annio -- stirs things up. But Tatiana! Oh, glory. Oh tremulous moanings and groanings. Oh, *plotz*!! _

Dude! I'm, like, using this public computer at the Towson U. Library, and I went to check the URLs of the people before me (I always do that. You can find some mighty interesting things.), and one person had been here and here! Floog! And now I want to track them down and say howdy, but I doubt if there's any chance of finding out who it was. _

Yesterday, and just now today, I stumbled across two pages which used the Tardis as a sort of descriptive simile. It seems to be coincidental, though of course they're both limeys. Still, it was a bit shocking, to me at least, since the pages had absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Who, but were instead dedicated to prints of old soap advertisments and nude outdoorsmanship, respectively. Maybe it's just 'cause I'm an American, and they actually talk this way all the time in Britain. Or maybe... _

Goddamnit, I hate Carmen! Why do I hate Carmen? Well, first off, every mezzo and her goldfish has freaking recorded it, when she should have been recording any number of glorious sexy trouser roles instead. Second off, it's French, and I loathe French opera on principle. Third off, I mean, gah! It's the ultimate freaking formula: Love, death, Latin passion (sung by Froggies!), gypsy women, betrayal, more death, smoldering seductresses, pah! It's a cliche from start to warbling finish. They take kids to it, to make 'em think opera is cool. They put it on all the cheesy compilation albums. They make big glitzy posters with dark-eyed damsels and bloated tenors in boots, and that one word: Carmen! It's a sucker's opera. It's lame and predictable and melodramatic and toreador isn't even a word, damnit! Arrrgh!

(p.s. but, in spite of everything, I was pretty happy when I typed "death to carmen" into Google and got this.)

(p.p.s. and, yeah, sure, I like the "use the cuspidore" version. As long as it's not sung in fuggin' French.) _

This is useless! Last night I went to bed around ten and slept 'til seven. So that's nine hours of sleep. A good night's sleep. I wanted to do the same thing tonight. It's one thirty. I'm not tired. Of course I'm not tired. I'm never tired at one thirty... I've been staying up 'til at least three and usually later for most of my life. Why would one exhausted and fulfilling night of sleep rearrange my entire schedule? It wouldn't. And after those nine hours, I was still lousy tired and bleary in the morning, and still felt like collapsing in bed right after class and sleeping through the afternoon (though I didn't). There's no point. Damnit. _
