I just had one of the most unbearable experiences an introvert can have. A crowd of interns, 15 strong, just came into the office and all stood around my desk (i'm right by the door) while their employee guide spoke to them. I guess my discomfort was fairly evident, though, because after a few minutes the guide said, "Ok, let's move over here so we won't disturb Sarah." Ha.
Now I know how aquarium dwellers feel.

On today's burrito hunt&gather operation I passed a dude who was working an odd combination of hipster and schizo. I see a lot of both because of where I work (7th and Mission) but they're usually clearly differentiated. This guy, though, had the hipster look (tats and plugs) but was leaning against a garbage bin and talking to himself. The funny part: he was holding his hand up in the "talking on the phone" gesture and saying, "Do you know who I am? I have friends downtown! Heads will roll!"
Yeah, it was awesome.

Some thing I thought about today:
The first album I remember falling in love with was Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain by Pavement. I got it at Tower Records after reading a good review and listening to the beginning of the first five songs on the store headphones. Then my dad gave me a ride to play practice where between scenes I listened to it on some dude's headphones. Said dude knew Pavement's ex-drummer. I thought that was pretty cool.
I know every word to every song on that album (like the first three Elvis Costello albums) but I still can't say I can understand Stephen Malkmus's lyrics.
